Suunto's GPS multifunction
watch
July 17, 2007
Finnish company Suunto's X9i watch is probably the most advanced watch
a hiker or traveller can buy.
This digital watch comes with just about everything an adventurer could want –
digital compass, chronograph, altimeter, barometer and even a built-in GPS!
Using all these features together,
the X9i can help you plan your journey by calculating your present heading and remaining distance while giving you weather
alarms by showing you a 6-hour barometric trend graph and more besides.
What's new is that Suunto has just
released free software to export and convert the tracks recorded on the GPS in the watch so that it can be imported into the
free version of Google Earth.
The watch is provided with a USB cable to serve as both a charging cable and as
a data link to the PC.
